PRO Buzz: Wikileaks Founder Julian Assange Nominated For Nobel Peace Price

Founder and editor-in-chief of controversial worldwide non-profit whistleblower organization WikiLeaks Julian Assange has been nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.


Bradley Manning, Wael Ghonim (Egyptian Internet Activist), Israa Abdel Fattah (Egypt Youth Movement/ Also known as Facebook girl) and Lina Ben Mhenni (Tunisia Blogger) are also nominated with Assange for the Nobel Peace Prize.


Julian Assange already has many awards to his name:

  • Amnesty International UK Media Award (New Media) [2009]
  • Sam Adams Award [2010]
  • Sydney Peace Foundation Gold Medal [2011]
  • Martha Gellhorn Prize for Journalism [2011]
